The Yamaha CDX-10000 was the finest CD player up to the late 1980s, and employed not only cutting edge technology but performance specifications that would eventually filter down to it consumer market CD players. Like all audiophile CD players, it was a single CD drawer design.  After all, one could only listen to on CDE at a time! It had a list price of 400,000 yen, making it one of the most expensive, if not the most expensive, CD players in the world.
